The gas and electricity crisis is disrupting production at many of the country's garment factories, Prothom Alo reports. In the knitwear segment, 55 percent of factories have had orders reduced or cancelled, and production has been partially halted at 78 percent of them, according to the paper.
The recent rise in fuel prices adds to the pressure: manufacturers now fear that both production and transport costs will climb further, the report says.
